An internal initiative to fight the global mask shortage. We wanted to create a solution that was responsive, accessible, free, collective, empathetic, disruptive and shareable. Using the world wide web could spread solutions quicker than the spread of the virus.

This mask aimed to protect the wearer’s environment against droplet projections causing the COVID-19 infection. It was a physical barrier, not a respiratory mask and was an temporary solution until manufactured masks became available again. To fight the global spread, we needed to adopt an empathetic mindset towards protecting not only ourselves but also protecting others.
